Ingredients

  • 1 (11-ounce) package Fresh Express® Orange Sesame Chopped Kit
  • 1 lb pork tenderloin, sliced into 1/2-inch strips
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 8 to 12 small bao buns (gua bao), frozen or refrigerated
  • 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp orange juice
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • Salt and black pepper

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk hoisin, soy sauce, orange juice, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic. Set aside.
  • Bring 1 inch of water to a simmer. Steam bao in a bamboo steamer until soft and hot, 5 to 7 minutes. Keep covered off heat. (Microwave per package directions if preferred.)
  • Pat pork dry. Toss with cornstarch, five-spice, a pinch of salt, and black pepper until lightly coated. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Cook pork in a single layer, in batches if needed, 2–3 minutes per side, until browned and crisp at the edges and cooked through to 145°F.
  • Reduce the skillet heat to medium. Return all pork to the skillet (if you cooked in batches). Pour in the hoisin sauce mixture and toss 30–60 seconds until the pork is glossy and coated.
  • Add the greens from the Fresh Express® Orange Sesame Chopped Kit to a large bowl, drizzle with the dressing from the kit, and toss to lightly coat. Sprinkle with included crunchy toppings.
  • Fill each warm bao with a little of the crispy glazed pork and a small handful of the prepared salad. Serve the remaining prepared salad on the side.
