Fresh Express Romaine lettuce products are not implicated in the E. coli O157:H7 foodborne illness outbreak that continues to be investigated, no Fresh Express Romaine lettuce products have been recalled and Fresh Express does not source Romaine lettuce from the Yuma growing region.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its advice to consumers saying that since Romaine lettuce is no longer being harvested or distributed from the Yuma growing area, it is unlikely that any Romaine lettuce from the Yuma region is still available in stores or in restaurants.
At Fresh Express, rigid food safety practices are followed at every phase of salad production, starting in the field and continuing all the way through to delivery to your local grocer. Food safety audits begin before the first seed is even planted, and continue throughout growing, pre-harvest and harvest, including a range of critical food safety checks and pre-harvest testing for E. coli O157:H7.
We stand behind the quality and safety of all our fresh salads and leafy greens products.
